Action Role-Playing video games (also known as RPG or ARPG) are a subgenre of role-playing video games that tend to focus on action and fighting instead of level progressing and planning. Action RPG often incorporates various elements from action games and even from action-adventure games. Big part of this genre are also so-called “Diablo clones” or hack & slash games. The typical action RPG focuses mainly on combat, at the cost of simplifying (or removing) all non-combat attributes and statistics. Additionally, combat always takes place in the real-time system and relies on the player's ability to perform particular actions with optimal speed and accuracy. All top action RPGs tend to focus more on the collection of randomized treasure (or loot) than story progression that is found in other types of role-playing games. Every PC gamer will find the best Action RPGs on Games Republic. Only top titles! With the advancement of the internet, video games started to evolve as well. One of the major changes was an introduction to the Multiplayer mode. In Multiplayer, more than one person can play in the same game environment at the same time. Before the internet era, video games were mostly Single Player activities, putting the player against preset challenges and AI-controlled opponents (which lacked the flexibility and unpredictability of human mind). Multiplayer games allow players to interact with each other in partnership, rivalry or competition, giving them a level of social communication absent in Single Player titles. In Multiplayer games, players may compete against two (or more) human contestants, work cooperatively with a human partner to achieve a common goal, and even supervise other players' activity. Multiplayer games typically require players to share the resources of a single game system or use networking technology to play together over a greater distance. A video game franchise commonly associated with multiplayer is Counter-Strike. Massively Multiplayer Online games (also called MMOs) are a variation of multiplayer games in which a very large number of players can interact with one another within a virtual world. The best example of an MMO game is World of Warcraft. As fun as it might seem, being a sniper is a tough, dirty job. They have to lay in the mud for many hours waiting for that one, perfect shot. Being a sniper in a video game is a little more appealing as game designers try their best to make it an immersive, action-packed experience. Sniper franchise is a series of tactical shooters developed and published by City Interactive for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. It consists of four installments: Sniper: Art of Victory, Sniper: Ghost Warrior, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, and Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. All games are tactical shooters played from a first-person perspective. As the title might suggest, a large portion of the game consists of stealth, staking out targets and taking them out with the use of sniper rifles. As is the case with Sniper Elite, one of the game’s key elements is realistic ballistics. Bullet trajectories are subject to wind strength, gravity, breathing and flight time, all of which players must consider while taking a shot. It further adds to Sniper’s realism and immersion. Sniper games were praised for their theme and mechanics and sold over 6 million copies worldwide. Feel how it is to be a sniper. Stake out your targets and take them out with one precise shot.
