Mac is not the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “gaming”. Yes, mobile games are extremely popular on iPhone and iPad but when it comes to big, triple-A titles, Mas seems to stay behind PC and home gaming consoles. Even though Apple devices were always cutting edge, they are still not associated with video games. You might not know this, but gaming on Mac computers is nothing new. In fact, the first Mac video games are pretty old and date back to the late 1970s. These games include titles such as Global War, Asteroids in Space, and Flight Simulator. The number of Mac titles never equaled (and probably never will) the number of PC or console games, but there were blockbusters and advanced titles as well. Myst (released in 1993), Sim City 2000 (1993), Wolfenstein 3D (1994), Command and Conquer (1996), and Diablo (1997) are just a few of them. And now? Look at titles like BioShock, DragonAge, and Guitar Hero. The Mac’s video game library may not be as extensive as PC’s or PlayStation’s but it certainly isn’t as bad as one might think. The iOS system is very fluid and efficient, and because of that gaming on Mac can be pretty entertaining.Life simulation games (sometimes known as artificial life games or life sims) are a distinct subgenre of simulation video games in which players can control and/or develop one or more virtual lifeforms. A life simulation game can revolve around individuals and relationships, it could be a simulation of an ecosystem or even simulation of the entire evolutionary process. Because life simulation games are intended for entertainment and not research, commercial games of this genre are somewhat limited in many aspects. Still, they’re one of the most successful genres of all time, thanks to many top franchises. The Sims, Creatures, Spore and even Tamagotchi already a have cult status among their fans and are considered groundbreaking by many of them. Life simulation games that will make you forget about everything. Best titles for PC and consoles, only on Games Republic.Worms is a franchise consisting of video games created by Team17. Worms video games can be described as a mix of artillery and turn-based games. In a typical Worms game, a player controls a small squad of worms and battles other squads (computer- or player-controlled) on a destructible map. During the course of the game, players take time-limited turns controlling one of their worms. Every turn they can use one tool or weapon available to them to attack and kill their opponents' worms, winning the game. Loads of humor, an arsenal of bizarre weapons, and colorful cartoon-style animation are all trademarks of the Worms franchise. The series quickly became popular and was described by the gaming press as a mix of Scorch, Cannon Fodder, and Lemmings. The most popular games in the entire franchise are Worms (1995), Worms 2 (1997), Worms Armageddon (1999), and Worms 3D (2003). Few Worms-themed spin-offs have also been released, including Onlineworms (2001), Worms Blast (2002), and Worms Golf (2004). Nowadays, Worms are published mostly on mobile devices and OS X platform. Funny, engaging and addictive. Worms are one of the best time killers available. Take command over your own team of weapon-crazed worms and fight for domination on a map.Hide
